Subject	Alternative to powdercoating?

Message	I have to do an engine gasket rebuild at the end of the month (pray that all goes well) and I was wondering if there was any other way i could go about painting my valve covers besides powdercoating? Would normal or high heat spray paint melt off or something? If theres no other alternative Im planning on just cleaning off the factory black and going with the medal look.
